WhAT IS AN ARTSEAT?

The Art Seat is an innovative new form of outdoor seating, suitable for public spaces such as parks and play areas, as well as private outdoor areas within schools, colleges & al fresco dining areas.

This outdoor furniture can be either bright and colourful suitable for play areas, or painted in natural earth tones for blending into green environments. In fact the Art Seat can be whatever you want it to be, as it is infinitely customisable by using applied graphics.

The Art Seat is popular with public realm artists but also comes in a wide range of predesigned graphics, flat colours or bespoke designs which can be specified by landscape architects, architects, engineers or other designers.

Easy to install, low on maintenance and made from fire resistant fiberglass, the Art Seat’s robust composition means that it can endure the most demanding environments.

Anatomy of an Art Seat

1) An Art Seat a cylindrical seat that is made out of fire retardant fibreglass. The Art Seat has a hollow core – so it can be filled with sand – and they then are pretty solid, so fixing into the ground is quite optional. This is a great option if the paving already exists, and the seats are an afterthought. Being able to shunt the seats about a little – can be seen as desirable, but equally, if you want the seats fixed into one place, there are special brackets available that can be used to fix them down permanently to the pavement.

2) Customise your seats to blend with your environment. Custom vinyl of any design can be applied to the sides and top of the Art Seat, making a great opportunity for displaying information, education, art display, advertising or a patter that will help in ensuring the seat blends perfectly with its environment.

3) The seat can be finished as a single painted colour as per the colour chart, or painted white to receive a graphic design. There are many standard graphics that can be applied, like “Paws for Thought” which shows passers-by all the foot prints that British animals make, with their names in English and Latin given decide them.

4) Best of all, the seat is a great way to feature public art schemes: The fact that the seat is a useful landscape item of street furniture, means that there will be many proposed throughout a project, and this makes the art accessible to all users of the public green space.
